The Lint Center for National Security Studies today announced the winner of the 2008 Virginia and Frank Misselhorn Memorial Scholarship. The Lint Center, a non-profit charity, focused on supporting the educational pursuits of the next generation of America’s Counterintelligence and National Security Workers, awarded its second scholarship this summer to Joseph Linhart. The Virginia and Frank Misselhorn Memorial Scholarship award aims to identify, support, and mentor an emerging leader focused on Alliance Building, Counterintelligence, and National Security studies.

“This means a tremendous amount to me and I am humbled to receive this scholarship award from the Lint Center,” said Joseph Linhart, First Lieutenant., New York Army National Guard and project manager for Kraft Foods Global. “I am confident that the Virginia and Frank Misselhorn Memorial Scholarship will better afford me the opportunity to pursue my academic pursuits and that the Lint Center’s mentoring program will help empower me to achieve my professional aspirations.”

“The Lint Center was extremely pleased with Joseph Linhart’s analytical essay discussing war and diplomacy as well as his experience with Effects Based Operations while serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom,” said Jim Lint, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Lint Center for National Security Studies, Inc. “Linhart’s honorable service and time overseas in a hostile theater has sharpened his perception and appreciation of important national security issues. The fact that his insights exceed his years is as impressive as it is necessary for America’s future. We are excited to support Mr. Linhart’s educational efforts and the Center looks forward to being an active mentor as he pursues a career in the public sector.”
