The Lint Center for National Security Studies, a non-profit organization focused on supporting the next generation of America’s National Security professionals through scholarship and mentoring opportunities, today announced the award of the summer 2014 Jim & Anna Hyonjoo Lint Scholarship to Ms. Niki G. Kissinger. The Jim & Anna Hyonjoo Lint scholarship was created to identify, support, and mentor emerging national security leaders focused on international affairs, counterintelligence, and national security studies.
“I am honored to receive the Jim & Anna Hyonjoo Lint scholarship from the Lint Center,” said Capt. Niki G. Kissinger. “It is organizations like the Lint Center which make our country great. Individuals who give back and think about our country’s future make us all better (and safer) in the long run.”.
“This scholarship is going directly to my tuition in order to earn my Doctorate in Business Administration. I intend to complete my degree while still serving my country and am honored to do so.”
Kissinger’s background in the United States Air Force and leadership in mentoring and recruiting for the U.S. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corp, ROTC, in California encouraged the Lint Center Scholarship Committee to award Capt. Kissinger the Jim and Anna Hyonjoo Lint Scholarship. In addition to her extensive academic background, graduating with a B.S. in Systems Engineering and M.A. in Business Administration, Capt. Kissinger’s essay outlined the continued as well as growing problem in the development of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) focused-fields of study and a solution to encourage the brightest to pursue a STEM centered position in the United States.
“Capt. Kissinger is the fourth Active Duty Air Force member to receive a Lint Center scholarship to date,” said Timothy W. Coleman, Chief Operations Officer for the Lint Center for National Security Studies. “It is always a privilege to award current and former service members with scholarship funds to support their continued educational efforts.. Capt. Kissinger’s essay is unique in that it helps us recognize the need to fill a critical personnel gap in STEM fields, which is fundamental to the future of U.S. national security.”
Due to the generosity and continued support of the world’s leading private intelligence company, Strategic Forecasting, Inc. (www.stratfor.com), Captain Niki G.
