YALE UNDERGRAD RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS LINT CENTER SCHOLARSHIP
Lint Center for National Security Studies Announces 2016 Lee and Byun Scholarship International Relations and Cultural Awareness Scholarship
The Lint Center for National Security Studies, a non-profit organization focused on supporting the next generation of America’s National Security professionals through scholarship and mentoring opportunities, today announced the award of the 2016 Lee and Byun International Relations and Cultural Awareness scholarship.
Julie Slama, a student at Yale University, was awarded the Lint Center’s Lee and Byun International Relations and Cultural Awareness Scholarship for Ms. Slama’s continued and evident educational interest in global affairs. Ms. Slama’s personal story demonstrated a keen understanding and passion for international relations, cultural awareness, as well as the importance of willful determination. Her desire to pursue a degree in Global Affairs with a concentration in International Security demonstrated a strong understanding off the complexities of the operating environment of resolving long-standing issues including the role of the United States in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel.
“Receiving the Lee and Byun International Relations and Cultural Awareness Scholarship from the Lint Center is a great honor,” said Julie Slama. “Being recognized for my policy analysis efforts in the discipline of international relations is wonderful, being named the recipient of an award named after two inspiring figures is deeply humbling and gratifying. I look forward to continuing my studies, becoming an active member in the Lint Center’s mentoring program, and leveraging the financial and knowledge resources provided to me through this scholarship to further my academic pursuits. I am truly grateful to the Lint Center for this honor.

The Lee and Byun International Relations and Cultural Awareness Scholarship was created to identify and recognize individuals who display a passion, understanding, and appreciation of international relations, cultural awareness, and the impact pioneers for positive change can achieve. The Lint Center Scholarship Committee considers the personal essay, scholarship essay and recommendations when identifying the recipient of the $500 scholarship award.
