Lint Center’s ‘Quest for Knowledge’ Scholarship:
Honoring CPL Christopher J. Coffland ($500)
WINNER: Trevor Kennedy (2010)

CPL Christopher J. Coffland was assigned to the 323rd Military Intelligence Battalion and was killed in action during Operation Enduring Freedom in Wardak Province, Afghanistan on November 13, 2009. A dedicated, brave and courageous American, Specialist Coffland received two Bronze Stars for bravery and a Purple Heart among other medals for his service.

Trevor Kennedy is an Intelligence Analyst in the US Army Reserve. A graduate student in the Business Information Technology department at Virginia Tech, he is a researcher in the field of Decision Science. Quote, “I strongly believe that there is no profession more noble than serving one’s country in the military or as a civilian in the national security field.” After finishing his Ph.D., he intends to work as a researcher for either the Army or the Department of Defense.
