Lint Center’s ‘International Association for Intelligence Education’ Scholarship ($1,000)

WGBIII is a Masters candidate in Criminal Justice at Angelo State University where he is honored to be a member of four academic honor societies: Phi Kappa Phi, the Order of the Sword and Shield, Golden Key International Honour Society, and Gamma Beta Phi. WGBIII also earned a Master in Securities Studies, Intelligence and Analysis in 2016 from ASU, where he received a Carr Scholarship and served as Co-Executive Editor of the peer-reviewed Journal of Homeland and National Security Perspectives.

Additionally, WGBIII has interned with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the Federal Law Enforcement Center and Georgetown University Law Criminal Justice Center during his graduate studies. WGBIII earned a Bachelor in Business Administration degree from Thomas Edison State College where he was an Arnold Fletcher Award winner so named for achieving academic excellence. After graduating from college, WGBIII participated in an outdoor leadership development and service semester. In addition to honing orienteering and mountaineering skills, he leveraged his Spanish immersion language training by working with Native Ecuadorians, teaching English in the Remanso de Armor school and tutoring special needs children in the Casa de Fe orphanage.

WGBIII was selected to attend the Free Enterprise Leadership Challenge at Wingate College’s Jesse Helms Center. The student team with which he had the privilege of working took top honors in a business start-up competition generating the highest profit return in the history of FELC the program. WGBIII participated in the U.S. Naval Cadet Corps program receiving intensive training in approved U.S. Navy curricula. He served with a North Carolina division and graduated from advanced training billets including the Petty Officer Leadership Academy.

WGBIII’s career aspirations include investing his life in something that is bigger than himself and in an endeavor that will have mattered long after he’s gone. To WGBIII, there is no more worthwhile effort than in upholding our nation’s laws, protecting those he serves, and achieving the vision of a homeland that is safe, secure, and resilient as a member of the intelligence, security and law enforcement fraternity.
